Dasher

I love this stamp set Dasher (located in the back of the catalog). It is so beautiful and big. I did this card for Dawn McVey's Color Challenge. I {heart} how this card came together. I punched out several snowflakes with Stampin' Up's newest snowflake punch to create a tone on tone background.
I created a shimmer spray using a combination of Shimmer paint and Alcohol and sprayed the background with it. I wish it showed up better in the picture because it is very sparkly. You can also add reinker to it to tint the spray with the shimmer. Just be aware that you can not use 99% alcohol if you are planning on using reinker because the ink is water soluble. Without the diluted alcohol you will get clumps of ink :)
Supplies: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Dasher & Christmas Punch (hostess)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, (SWM) Chocolate Chip & (SWM) Real Red
Cardstock: Kraft, Baja Breeze, Real Red, Very Vanilla & Chocolate Chip
Embellishments: Clear Buttons, Linen Thread, Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon
Tools: Corner Rounder, Scallop Border Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Craft Knife, Snowflake Punch & Wide oval Punch
Other: Frost White Shimmer Paint, Two-way Glue, SNAIL & Stampin' Dimensionals
Non-SU!: Alcohol

A New Addition to the Stampin' Up! Online Store! How wonderful is that. You are now able to get up to 80% off on retired items. There will not be any current products sold on the clearance rack. All sales of Clearance Rack items are final. No returns or exchanges will be accepted, except in the case of defective product. This has me excited thinking what oldies but goodies to they have stashed away at the warehouse :)

Medallion- Color Throwdown Challenge

Added a butterfly from Simple Friendship... I think I like it like this. Since there were already comments posted with the first card... I decided to leave that one up as well :)
I really had to challenge myself for this challenge. These are not colors that I would normally pick out by myself... and that is why I love to participate in color challenges. Once I started piecing the colors I started to fall in love. I am really glad I chose to use these colors! I have not idea when I would have used Green Galore... it is a very bright colored green ... not it will get the attention it deserves.

I did ink the edges of the barely banana cardstock to give greater depth and love the way that turned out :) I also hate to admit this is only the second time I have used the Medallion stamp... so sad, I know.

Feel free to comment on which you prefer... with or without the butterfly :)

Supplies Used: (All Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Medallion

Paper: Barely banana, Bermuda Bay, Green Galore, and Whisper White

Ink: Green Galore, Bermuda Bay, and Barely Banana

Ribbon: Whisper White Satin

Embellishments: Pretties Kit & Hodgepodge Hardware (silver)

Punches: Modern Label, 1" circle, and Designer Label

Deal of the Week

During the month of July Stampin' Up! has decided to offer deals of the week. This week it is the Big shot doctor's bag. I personally own one and it makes it much easier to tote it around when you have a bag for it. There is extra room in it to put a few extra things in it as well. Or you can also use it in your craft space just to store the big shot. So, for 49.95 this lovely beauty can be yours.

New Stampin Up! Catalog is here!

The New Stampin' Up! (July '09-June '10) is here and it is beautiful. I am sure there will be plenty of people staying up late thumbing through their new catalog & planning what to make. Ordering through the catalog will begin the 1st of June. If you have not received your catalog feel free to contact me for more information.

The Last Chance list for accessories are dwindling down. If you had your eye on something now is a good time to get it before it is GONE FOREVER... sad I know!

Scrapbook Studio in Pooler

I went to support our new Scrapbook store in the area... well Pooler, that is still in the area right? I racked up on a bunch of goodies and can not wait to start playing with them. The store is called Scrapbook Studio. Check her out... she did post pics so it will let you get a feel for the place. AND the best news of all I WON a basket full of goodies, how awesome is that. See it 'pays' to support your LSS. I love the Heidi Swapp alphabet masks ::drooling:: The Bo Bunny 'my edgy album' I love that is is not the traditional 'family', 'friends', or whatever words cascading album. And how did she know my favorite color is PINK.

Stampin' Up! Shipment

My Stampin' Up! boxes arrived not too long ago. It did take some time to unpack all the rubbery goodness and I have started making some cute cards. I am posting these for the ladies at SCS :) Hopefully I will get to see TheOtherMeg post hers :). I was only able to take pics of about half what I opened because I started to run out of room and had to start storing stuff.

I Joined Stampin Up!

I finally decided to take a dive and join Stampin' Up! And why not with the fabulous deals that they have going on right now? I will be posting pictures of my work throughout my journey as a demonstrator. Eventually I really want to start making videos as well because I know I love watching them :)

Thursday, January 8, 2009

After stalking kwernerdesign blog for some time now I decided to participate in her color inspiration challenge. I am really inspired by her and her blog is definitely one to bookmark! Watching the videos gives me great inspiration to scrap something or make a card.

This challenge is using Stampin' Up colors old olive, baja breeze, chocolate chip. pumpkin pie. and whisper white. I currently do not own any Stampin' Up papers (yet) so I used some Bazzill cardstock and Senic Route Ashville Cornelia Street. Hopefully I am able to inspire someone to create something beautiful.
