Dasher

I love this stamp set Dasher (located in the back of the catalog). It is so beautiful and big. I did this card for Dawn McVey's Color Challenge. I {heart} how this card came together. I punched out several snowflakes with Stampin' Up's newest snowflake punch to create a tone on tone background.
I created a shimmer spray using a combination of Shimmer paint and Alcohol and sprayed the background with it. I wish it showed up better in the picture because it is very sparkly. You can also add reinker to it to tint the spray with the shimmer. Just be aware that you can not use 99% alcohol if you are planning on using reinker because the ink is water soluble. Without the diluted alcohol you will get clumps of ink :)
Supplies: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Dasher & Christmas Punch (hostess)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, (SWM) Chocolate Chip & (SWM) Real Red
Cardstock: Kraft, Baja Breeze, Real Red, Very Vanilla & Chocolate Chip
Embellishments: Clear Buttons, Linen Thread, Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon
Tools: Corner Rounder, Scallop Border Punch, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Craft Knife, Snowflake Punch & Wide oval Punch
Other: Frost White Shimmer Paint, Two-way Glue, SNAIL & Stampin' Dimensionals
Non-SU!: Alcohol

Stampin' Up! Clearance Rack

A New Addition to the Stampin' Up! Online Store! How wonderful is that. You are now able to get up to 80% off on retired items. There will not be any current products sold on the clearance rack. All sales of Clearance Rack items are final. No returns or exchanges will be accepted, except in the case of defective product. Stampin' Up! is trying to make the Clearance section become a permanent part of the online store. Since there will be no particular schedule as to when new items will be posted you are encouraged to check the online store often.
This has me excited thinking what oldies but goodies to they have stashed away at the warehouse :)

Medallion- Color Throwdown Challenge

Added a butterfly from Simple Friendship... I think I like it like this. Since there were already comments posted with the first card... I decided to leave that one up as well :)
I really had to challenge myself for this challenge. These are not colors that I would normally pick out by myself... and that is why I love to participate in color challenges. Once I started piecing the colors I started to fall in love. I am really glad I chose to use these colors! I have not idea when I would have used Green Galore... it is a very bright colored green ... not it will get the attention it deserves.

I did ink the edges of the barely banana cardstock to give greater depth and love the way that turned out :) I also hate to admit this is only the second time I have used the Medallion stamp... so sad, I know.

Feel free to comment on which you prefer... with or without the butterfly :)
